Ankara Doctor Kills & Dismembers 26 Puppies
Since the amendments to 5199 came into law in August 2024, there has been a noticeable increase in violence toward stray dogs and the individuals who care for them. Alarmingly, this has coincided with a growing movement of animosity toward all dogs, including those who are owned. Kind-hearted individuals who possess empathy for all living beings, both human and non-human, have been unjustly vilified, attacked, and even murdered simply for their compassion.
Within this troubling context, I want to share the story of a doctor residing and practicing in Ankara, who committed heinously wicked acts, likely believing he could escape accountability.

The rescue community was increasingly concerned about the collection of stray dogs and the pace at which the municipal shelters were filling up. In some cases shelters didn’t exist at all, where were all these dogs going?
Animal lovers, knowing that deaths were occurring in inadequate shelters and that there were instances of deliberate culling had to do something to help as many dogs as they could. They needed to find as many homes as possible for the dogs under their protection. And they did.
While the carers maintained contact with adopters after the adoption process, alarm bells rang when one adopter seemed elusive. The community, noticing he had taken in an unusually high number of dogs, decided to pay him a visit to ensure the well-being of the puppies he had adopted. Their intention was to verify that the dogs were being properly cared for and to address any potential issues that might compromise the animals' welfare.
They gathered outside his home.
Tensions escalated quickly as the animal carers, who had entrusted the doctor with their puppies, confronted him, demanding to see the animals.
The doctor, however, refused their request, instructing them to vacate his premises.
This refusal did not sit well with the carers, and as emotions ran high, a scuffle ensued between the two parties. The situation, filled with frustration and anger, highlighted the deep divide and mistrust that had developed over the care of the puppies.
Initially, the twelve puppies seen in the image were being searched for.
There was no sign of them. The doctor mentioned that they had escaped through an open window and he hadn't been able to locate them.
Security camera footage has been obtained that depicts the doctor mishandling the puppies. The footage reveals the doctor throwing one onto the ground, kicking them, and handling them with a lack of care.

The investigation into the doctor's property and the excavation of his garden commenced. During this process, it was uncovered that he owned a second property, which was also subjected to a thorough search.
Red stains were found on the walls of the doctors property. These stains had been painted over in white paint. Upon investigation they were confirmed as blood.
The doctor denied this & said “the red stains on the wall in the image examination report show a certain part of the wall that I painted for hobby purposes. Although the red stains were evaluated as blood, this does not reflect the truth. These stains are paint”
The doctor was identified as Muhammet Mustafa Duman, was confirmed as actively employed as a doctor & working at a hospital in Ankara.
During the investigation, crime scene teams uncovered small parcels of dog hair wrapped in tissue, alongside a carrying case containing various knives and a cleaver.
Additionally, animal bones were found scattered in the area surrounding the doctor's property.
Pictures were found on his phone, one depicting a very young puppy that seemed lifeless and covered in blood.
The puppy was positioned on top of a plastic bag. Duman said that the puppy had been washed, and the red colouring was not blood but a mixture of milk and dog food.
Footage from security cameras was reviewed.
The videos captured Duman entering the premises with the dogs, yet no footage was found showing the dogs exiting the building. Although there was plenty of footage showing him taking small parcels out to the trash.
There have been reports of him possessing & sharing animal porn, this has not been confirmed by authorities.
After standard procedures at the police station, Duman was sent to the courthouse and subsequently charged with the offense of "intentionally killing a pet."
The community is in shock as they grapple with the disturbing discovery involving Duman and the 26 missing puppies.
Questions linger about whether a controversial law, perceived to permit the killing of dogs, may have emboldened him to commit these appalling acts.
People are debating whether Duman would have acted in such a way without the existence of this law or if the legal backdrop provided a twisted justification for his actions.
Authorities are diligently pursuing the investigation, while Duman remains in custody. However, there is growing concern among citizens about the possibility of his release, especially considering his profession as a doctor.
The thought of him returning to practice is causing unrest and fear within the community, as they anxiously await further developments in the case.
