Bunny's Rescuer Hurt Her!
Bunny is a street-born dog.
Like many dogs in Turkey, she became a victim of a hit-and-run driver.
Thankfully, a kind person found her and took her under their protection. However, they lacked the funds for medical care, so they decided to improvise by strapping her broken leg with an iron rod and string.
This had disastrous consequences for Bunny
Bunny could feel the discomfort intensifying with each passing moment.
The string was cutting into her soft flesh and causing a numbing sensation to spread through the affected area.
Every slight movement was a reminder of the constriction, as the metal bar held fast, restricting her movement & causing pain.
Poor bunny was so miserable when she came into the clinic. Not only was her leg in a bad way, but she also had mange, which made her skin itch horribly.
Despite her discomfort, she showed a remarkable resilience.
The vet team immediately set to work, assessing her condition & creating a care plan for her.
Bunny's tests revealed that she had an infection, and the vets were surprised to discover she had already undergone surgery.
During her examination, they observed that she had received an operation on her breast area. The surgery was performed crudely, and she would require an additional procedure to correct it.
Bunny's situation was more serious than initially thought.
The improperly set bones had fused in a way that required immediate veterinary intervention.
Additionally, the makeshift splint had caused muscle death due to its constrictive nature.
The veterinary team acted swiftly to address these issues, working diligently to repair the damage and alleviate the discomfort Bunny was experiencing.
Their prompt and expert care aimed to ensure that Bunny's leg would heal properly and regain functionality.
As time passed and thanks to the diligent work of our vets, the muscle damage in Bunny's leg was reversed, the bones healed correctly, and she no longer had mange.
It was a very happy day indeed!
Bunny could finally move around normally & her fur gleamed with vitality.
Her journey had been tough, filled with anxious moments and prayers, but seeing her now, full of life and energy, made every moment worth it.
It was a reminder of the incredible resilience of animals and the profound impact of dedicated care and compassion.
Bunny made a complete recovery and became one of the fortunate ones. She found a home!
We couldn't have asked for a better family for her. They are big animal lovers and already have another dog and cats.
This happy ending was only possible because of the work we do.
Without us, she wouldn't be here today.
