On 1 August 2025, a shocking act of violence in Başakşehir, Istanbul claimed the life of Cezve, a gentle six‑year‑old cat loved by her community. The perpetrator, Burak Alan, a 34-year-old contractor, lured Cezve with feigned affection before dragging her into a building and savagely kicking and throwing her. Security cameras captured the entire assault. This was not an impulsive act—it was deliberate torture, carried out with shocking ease.
