Dog Desk Animal Action Awards £1,000 Grant to Save Dogs from UK Death Row
Dog Desk Animal Action is proud to announce that Doris Banham Dog Rescue is the recipient of our latest £1,000 emergency grant—funded by a kind and compassionate benefactor who donated this sum as restricted funding, specifically to help at-risk dogs in the UK.
This funding will provide 91 days of emergency boarding for dogs in immediate danger of being euthanised after their seven-day holding period in council pounds. These are dogs who have done nothing wrong and without urgent intervention, they face a tragic and preventable death.
A Grant That Can Only Be Used to Save Lives
This generous donation was made with a clear and heartfelt purpose: to save UK dogs from death row. As restricted funding, it cannot be diverted or used elsewhere—it must go directly towards providing safety, shelter, and a second chance for dogs in urgent need.
Thanks to this vital support, 91 days of emergency boarding are now secured, offering a life-saving bridge for vulnerable dogs while they await placement in rescue kennels or foster homes.
Supporting Doris Banham Dog Rescue
We are delighted to award this grant to Doris Banham Dog Rescue, a long-standing and trusted rescue partner known for pulling dogs moments before their destruction deadlines. Their commitment to saving the "forgotten" dogs—those older, ill, or considered difficult to rehome—is unwavering.
Together, we are turning compassion into action, giving dogs who would otherwise be lost the time and care they need to begin their journey to safety.
91 Days. 91 Chances to Live.
Emergency boarding is more than a kennel space—it’s a lifeline.
It buys time for dogs who have been let down by people and systems.
It allows rescues to act quickly when a dog is out of time.
It ensures that no healthy dog dies simply because there was nowhere for them to go.
Dog Desk Animal Action: Putting Restricted Funds to Work
At Dog Desk Animal Action, we are deeply grateful to the kind benefactor who made this restricted funding possible. This grant is an example of how targeted, purpose-led donations can create immediate, measurable impact.
We are proud to work with dedicated frontline organisations like Doris Banham Dog Rescue to ensure that every penny goes exactly where it’s needed—to the dogs whose lives hang in the balance.
Help Us Save Even More Lives
While this grant has funded 91 nights of safety, there are still many more dogs facing the same urgent danger.
