Animal Welfare Group Challenges Municipal Order To Capture Stray Dogs
An animal welfare organisation in Calabria has requested an urgent review of a municipal order reportedly issued on 12 October requiring the capture of stray and roaming dogs along Via IV Novembre in Marcellinara.
Voce Animale has questioned whether the order allows for individual assessments and complies with regional legislation permitting eligible dogs to return to their territory following veterinary checks. The organisation has requested details of the dogs affected, the reasons for collection and where captured animals will be housed.
The municipality’s response and the implementation of the order have yet to be established.
