Fourth Dog Found Dead At Property Linked To Unlicensed Pet-Care Business In The US
Authorities investigating an Illinois property linked to an unlicensed pet care business have discovered another dead dog. Police had previously found 19 living dogs and three dead dogs at the property, while another rescued dog later died. The investigation is continuing as questions are raised about the conditions in which the animals were being kept.

Eighteen dogs have been rescued from the illegal dog meat trade in Nagaland, India. The animals had reportedly been confined inside sacks before being rescued. Dogs rescued from what the BC SPCA described as a major animal protection case are beginning new lives after suffering significant welfare problems. French bulldogs, English bulldogs and dachshunds were among the animals found with conditions including breathing difficulties, skin disease and dental, ear and eye problems. Seventeen of the rescued dogs had already been adopted by the time of the latest update.

More than 100 cats have been removed from three homes in New York City in a single day following separate animal welfare interventions. The ASPCA says cases involving large numbers of animals can quickly overwhelm individual owners and create serious welfare concerns, while also placing considerable pressure on organisations responsible for removing, assessing and caring for the animals. The organisation says it has been seeing increasing requests for assistance with large-scale neglect and hoarding situations.

Six dogs and three rabbits died in a serious animal neglect case investigated by the RSPCA in County Durham. An investigating officer described encountering overwhelming conditions inside the property. A further 29 animals were rescued as part of the wider investigation.

A mother cat and her kittens have been rescued after being discovered inside a London boiler room where temperatures reached around 45°C. Westminster animal welfare officers worked with Blue Cross to remove the family from the dangerously hot environment. The mother cat and her kittens were subsequently cared for and found new homes.
