Dogs Slaugtered At Osmangazi Shelter

Shocking footage emerged from the Osmangazi municipal shelter revealing a heart breaking scene where the bodies of lifeless dogs are sprawled across the kennels and corridor floors
This distressing sight raised significant concerns about the conditions and management of the shelter.
Alaaddin Acar, who has been working at the Osmangazi Municipality animal shelter for seven years, is one of seven personnel who were fired for making video recordings of animals being killed inside the shelter.
His video began showing the chemical T61 which was used to euthanise the animals.
The video shows a deeply unsettling scene, filled with the tormented screams of puppies as they are injected.
The harrowing atmosphere is heightened by the sight of numerous deceased adult dogs.
The scene inside the shelter was truly appalling.
The floor was strewn with lifeless bodies.
A catchpole leaned against the wall, a tool now at rest amidst the chaos.
A person crouched low, seemingly administering an injection to a dog while a worker stood by watching.
What looked like a black sack lay ominously outside a kennel.

This isn’t the first time Osmangazi faced abuse allegations.
Alarming allegations were made against them in April when the remains of cats and dogs, covered in blood, were discovered sealed in bags and disposed of at the local dump.

Outside the Osmangazi controlled shelter the trash was filled with the bodies of the deceased dogs.
These trash containers were to make their way to the garbage dump just like before say workers.

In a heartfelt display of solidarity and compassion, kind-hearted individuals from across Turkey gathered at the shelter.
Their purpose was to protest the tragic loss of life and to honour the memory of the 70 souls who perished on that terrible day.
The atmosphere was one of unity and shared grief, as people stood together to express their sorrow and demand justice.
The gathering served as a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience of those who stand against injustice and violence.
The employee, who captured video evidence of the grim reality within the shelter, claims that both adult dogs and puppies were systematically euthanized shortly after their arrival, often within just a few days.
The whistle blower's courageous act of leaking the video aimed to shine a light on the urgent need for reform and accountability in animal care facilities.
A police presence was positioned outside the shelter which was on lockdown by this time. The police were armed with riot shields in anticipation of violence which never came.
The kind people who had gathered outside the shelter sought answers & wanted to honour the dogs who had been lost. They were not looking for physical altercations despite the tremendous emotional strain they were under.
A statement was issued by Osmangazi municipality regarding the video of dogs being culled in their shelter today.
They said that staff who carried out the culling had been dismissed & that they would be pursing those who shared the media on socials & with the press.
