Hit & run victim abandoned by her family

Lolly escaped from the garden of her home one day and found herself wandering the streets.

Unfortunately, this is a common scenario for dogs worldwide. An open gate, a gap in the hedge, or a weak spot in the garden fence can lead to a curious dog leaving the safety of their home.

Fortunately, thanks to the compassionate actions of a good Samaritan, Lolly was spotted wandering alone. They snapped a photo and shared it in a local community group, hoping to reunite Lolly with her family. This act of kindness showcases the strength of community bonds and how simple gestures can make a big difference.

Sadly a little while later Lolly was mown down by a car which drove off. Lolly lay helpless on the roadside, her small body battered and bruised from the hit-and-run. Every breath was a struggle, the pain almost unbearable.

Yet, amidst this despair, a beacon of hope emerged. A devoted dog lover, passing by, noticed her plight and immediately understood the urgency of the situation. Without hesitation, they contacted the shelter project, initiating a chain of compassion and care.

Thanks to their timely intervention, Lolly was whisked away for medical treatment, offering her a fighting chance to recover and heal from the trauma inflicted upon her.

Lolly’s recovery was a challenging with multiple broken bones that needed pinning to aid in their healing process. The veterinary team, as always, did an exceptional job in mending the injuries she suffered.

Unfortunately, Lolly's family chose not to reclaim her, and she was given up under the protection of the shelter project. In this caring environment, Lolly will have the opportunity to heal both physically and emotionally while she awaits a new, loving family who will truly care about her.

Lolly is on the path to recovery, receiving care in a cosy room at the clinic under the attentive watch of the shelter manager.

It's reassuring to know that she will make a full recovery and eventually find a loving home.

However, it's truly heart breaking to think that her family chose to abandon her during her time of greatest need. This situation deeply impacts us all, its quite the struggle trying to understand why anybody would choose to do that.
