Saving Scooter
Scooter came under our protection from the streets. A stray-born dog, he was suffering from a problem with his foot. A part of it was missing and needed urgent care.
Its difficult to say what happened to Scooter.
He may have trapped his foot in something resulting in the injury & loss or he may have sustained the injury in a fight
Scooter was admitted to the clinic for an extended course of treatment, with the aim of healing the raw underside of his foot.
The medical team were optimistic that by using creams, they could avoid the need for amputation and provide Scooter with a more comfortable recovery process.
Each day, the staff diligently applied the treatment, monitoring progress and adjusting the care plan as needed. The hope was that through patience and careful attention, Scooter would soon be able to walk pain-free once again.
Scooter’s recovery exceeded all expectations. The healing process was remarkably smooth, and soon, Scooter was ready to be discharged to the shelter project.
His foot was perfectly healed, and he was no longer in pain.
This wonderful outcome was a testament to the care and attention he received during his recovery journey.
Now, with a healthy and pain-free foot, Scooter was ready for a new chapter in his life.
But such is the nature of rescuing stray dogs Scooter hit a bump in the road.
He started coughing & sadly tested positive for distemper.
He had to go back to our vet for immune support & intensive nursing to help him get over this nasty disease.
After waiting anxiously, we finally received the call that brought us immense relief—Scooter was doing much better and was ready to come home.
Scooter is gradually adjusting to life at the shelter.
Sharing a paddock with a fellow dog, he will thrive in the company of others, as dogs often do.
With his friendly demeanour, Scooter is eager to find a loving home. We're hopeful that his forever family will come along soon.
