Our Mission
Dog Desk Animal Action is an independent animal welfare platform dedicated first and foremost to protecting vulnerable animals the injured, the abused, the abandoned, and those targeted by state policies, organised cruelty, and media-fuelled hatred.
Our priority is not commentary for its own sake. It is action, visibility, protection, and education for animals who would otherwise suffer and die unseen.
Who We Focus On
We focus especially on street dogs and cats in Turkey and other high-risk regions, where mass culling laws, disease outbreaks, neglect, and extremist violence place millions of animals in immediate danger. Through rescue reporting, case documentation, educational resources, and advocacy journalism, we work to ensure these animals are not erased from public concern.
Education as Protection
Education is a core part of our work. We provide clear, evidence-based information on animal welfare, public health, humane population control, disease prevention, and the social roots of violence toward animals. By challenging myths, propaganda, and fear-based narratives, we aim to replace hostility with understanding and policy with science.
An informed public is one of the strongest safeguards vulnerable animals have.
Independence & Accountability
This Substack exists because vulnerable animals need witnesses, defenders, educators, and an international audience that refuses to look away. Subscription funding allows us to continue supporting rescue operations, documenting abuse, challenging disinformation, producing educational content and applying pressure where it can save lives.
Dog Desk Animal Action is fully independent and reader-supported. We do not answer to governments, political parties, or corporate interests only to the animals whose suffering demands truth, education, and action.
